Nessebar
Port of Nessebar is located in the Burgas Bay and is part of the Burgas port complex
Historical sources indicate that the port of Nessebar (Mesembria) has existed since ancient times and had an important role in the development of the Bulgarian state. It is located on the southern side of the Nessebar peninsula, well protected from north and northeast winds.
Because of its exceptional cultural and historical wealth, Nessebar has been declared a museum, tourist and resort complex of international importance, and since 1983 it has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The construction of the port began in 1938 and ended in 1944. In the 1980s, a major expansion of the port took place, which included: the extension of the southern part of the breakwater and the construction of a new deep-water pier. The wharf is supplied with water, and the electricity supply is provided with its own substation built into the administrative building.
The maximum depth in front of the berths is 7.5 m.
The port is developing as a passenger and tourist port of international importance. Numerous cruise ships dock here, such as the Bahamian-flagged Albatross, the pride of the Italian shipyard Fincantieri - the Emerald Princess, the boutique cruise liner Variety Voyager, Hamburg, MS Europa, Minerva, Star Pride , "Seaborne Odyssey", one of the largest and most luxurious liners in the world - "Queen Elizabeth" and many others
